Personalised Immunotherapy in Sepsis:
a precision medicine approach

CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences

— CeMM —

CeMM is an interdisciplinary research institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences committed to advancing the understanding of human diseases through basic and biomedical research. Located in a tailor-made building in the midst of the campus of the Medical University of Vienna, CeMM is dedicated to its mission statement to pioneer science that nurtures the precise, personalised, predictive and preventive medicine of the future.

The mission of CeMM is to achieve maximum scientific innovation in molecular medicine to improve healthcare. At CeMM, an international and creative team of scientists and medical doctors pursues free-minded basic life science research in a large and vibrant hospital environment of outstanding medical tradition and practice. CeMM’s research is based on post-genomic technologies and focuses on societally important diseases, such as immune disorders and infections, cancer and metabolic disorders. CeMM operates in a unique mode of super-cooperation, connecting biology with medicine, experiments with computation, discovery with translation, and science with society and the arts. CeMM trains a modern blend of biomedical scientists to make great contributions. The goal of CeMM is to pioneer the science that nurtures the precise, personalised, predictive and preventive medicine of the future.

Role within ImmunoSep

Within the ImmunoSep Project the Bock Lab at CeMM will generate genome-wide accessibility profiles using ATAC-seq, followed by state-of-the-art bioinformatics integration. We will use an optimizied ATAC-seq protocol that is well-established in the Bock lab, which we have successfully applied to >2,000 primary patient samples from several projects.
